About the event

In the wake of the Sitzer-Burnett landmark class action lawsuit, the National Association of Realtors (NAR) reached a settlement agreement that would fundamentally change the real estate industry. Those changes went into effect last month, and they have profound implications for both home Buyers and Sellers — especially when divorce is involved.

Thankfully, Laurel Starks, the country’s foremost expert in the crossover of real estate and divorce, will break down these changes into real-world practices that may impact your cases. She’ll share:

  • The current state of the real estate market, including the perfect storm that created the housing affordability crisis
  • How the Sitzer-Burnett lawsuit and the Department of Justice have changed the real estate landscape for consumers
  • Practical issues that affect divorce cases involving real property
